This is my sweet 87 Jeep Comanche, I have loved this truck since the day I bought it. I it equipped with a mostly stock 4.0L I-6 with a Aisin (AX15) 5 speed manual tranny and the NP231 transfer case. It crawls pretty decent and goes through mud like no ones business it does decent on the street too but I very rarely race it as I spend most of my time searching out deep mudholes and big hills cliffs and rock beds to play in. The front and rear axles are the Dana 30 and 35 both open diffs at the time however I would like that to change soon. You people get to see some of the rare pics of my truck when its washed (looks pretty good huh?) The paint is only about a year old, not professional but decent nonetheless, but I really dont care, I dont intend to baby this truck just because it looks good, I love to play and this pickup is good at it so I guess if it gets scratched or dented or mashed, then Ill have some job security even though I really dont care for bodywork :) I have center caps for it as well but just have been to busy to get them on yet

The Pic you see now is of my truck with the topper on I have since taken this topper off and am still trying to decide wether to keep it off or put it back on. This should be a non-issue as I am already having a set of aluminum diamond plate bed caps custom made for it as we speak, these will match the diamond plate toolbox that I bought for it that is sitting in my basement. What does everyone think, should I go with current plans or put the topper back on.

This is what I did to my taillights, I was time consuming but relatively easy, and although I think it looks pretty good I would like to pickup another set of taillight housings so I can do it again and do it better now that I know how to do it. Let me know what you think of these.

These are my four rigs, my pride and joy. They all run very well and I have spent less than $500 to aquire them. If you cant tell I am a sucker for old ford trucks and have a knack for getting them cheap. They are from left to right: 1976 ford f-100 302 (less than 5k miles on rebuilt motor) four speed 4.10 ford nine inch, 2x4, goes like a raped ape... 1961, custom cab, one ton dually flatbed, 390 FE big Block, converted to c-6 auto, with a dana 60 in the rear, this is my towing rig I pull my flatbed gooseneck with it, rides like a rock but it'll pull anything you can hook it up to... and my 1968 ford f-100 custom cab, two wheel drive, 360 FE big block with the optional C-6 auto, runs very strong but I very rarely give her the onion cause I want it to stay in as good of shape as it is, Im planning for full body off concurs resto on this one, but who knows that may never happen till I retire in another 40 some odd years :P and last but most certainly not least the pickup I devote nearly all my time to my 87 comanche (its a jeep thing)

Hello fellow Jeeper! To give my opinion about the camper top is to leave it on. The Comanche is different in itself, but one with a camper top is few and far between. I like it man. Check out my Xj sometime if ya want.

Love the 'Manche!! Tough decision on removing the topper looks great either way!! 5 stars with or without it. Does the taillight covers let enough light through?
