ZCARR's 1991 Nissan 300ZX

Z-CARR (v4.0)

If I had a Z, it'd be silver... no... BLACK...

This is my 1991 300ZX 2+2. I had always wanted a Z32 since I saw one on the showroom floor in 1991. They are beautiful cars that (in my opinion) are still unmatched to this day. I spent nearly 3 years searching for the one that was just right for me.

Since the time of purchase, this car has gone through a great deal of maintenance and modification.  By late 2007, it had just about every bolt-on modification (engine, driveline, and suspension) available.  I just couldn't squeeze any more power out of the NA engine.  They were tuned pretty well from the factory and any performance gains were small.

By December, I was starting to put together a plan to convert my NA 2+2 to a Twin Turbo.  I began to purchase the maintenance and upgrade parts that I knew I would need/want.  I also started the more difficult task of sourcing a manual tranny front clip or donor car in good condition.  I have never trusted JDM front clips very much.  The overall success rate is too hit-and-miss.  There is a reason that they're often referred to as "JDM time bombs".

Finally, in March I found a totalled 1993 USDM TT located in the Dallas, Texas area ovend by a 66 year old Z enthusiast and great person.  She had owned the car since it was new and it was exceedingly well maintained by the same Nissan specialist mechanic its entire life.
