I bought this '70 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight in March of 2000, with 87.1k original miles, right after getting out of college. I have to say that of the 7 cars I've owned, this one is my favorite.

The main reason I love this car is because it is big - HUGE - in every way imaginable. It's wide, it's long, and it's heavy, weighing nearly 4500 lbs and sporting the longest body panels ever to come out of GM's Fisher body plant. It is a 2-door (a true hardtop), one of only 14,500 Holiday Coupes produced for 1970. You don't see many of these around.

Another reason I like this car is because it has an engine that can move it - very quickly at times. Under the hood is a totally stock 455 Rocket V8 creating 365 hp and a stump-pulling 506 lb-ft of torque. I've never taken her to the track, but I'd estimate a sub-16 sec quarter mile, maybe better. Throttle response from a rolling 15 mph is insane, neck-breaking even - there's not much on the road these days that can compare to it.

Finally, this is one beautiful car. Of all the Ninety Eights, I think this year had the best looking rear end.
