This is my beautiful 1970 Pontiac Firebird, Formula 400. This is one of less then 687 "Ram Air III" cars that where made. This car has less then 72,400 original miles on it, and is pretty much all stock and numbers matching except for intake manifold, carburator, and full exhaust system. Other then that it's pretty much stock. The 1970 Formula 400 came with two engines, one being the base 400, that produced 330hp and 430 torque, and of course the Ram Air III engine, which was rated at 345hp with 430 lbs of torque, again a massive under rating done by GM. The difference between the two engines where very drastic, the camshafts where different, the cylinder heads, intake manifolds, carburators, and exhaust manifold where all different. In the real world, the Ram Air III engine made a little over 360 hp, and over 480 lbs of torque. It was an under rated factory monster from Pontiac, and in 1970, there was stiff compition on the streets.
This is what it looked like when I got it out of the garage for the first time in over 20 years.
