This is page two of my Darrell Russell memoiral. his tragic death came just one week after his win in columbus. the week Darrell perished he was featured on the cover of national dragster. as this picture of the week after shows it went from happy to sad very quickly the week after national dragster ran a rememberance section with some pictures as this photo of scott kalitta holding it upshow his sadness over a lost racer and dear friend. the joy of one week then to the sadness of the next was an emotional rollercoaster felt by many.his win at columbus 
This is that fateful run in st.louis against scott kalitta.
two weeks after that fateful day in st.louis at denver where Darrell would of been making his 1st qualifying run the nhra ran down one car and kept one lane empty to remeber Darrell. you can tell by this photo the emotions were running rampit. i did not have a dry eye as many others probably did not.
R.I.P buddy you are missed.
