1-28-05 - Well the projects for this car are never over, and since it's winter I'll be doing plenty of work to it. Aside from the few things here and there that will pop up as the year goes on, my biggest plans include finishing my interior off (all black). Boyd Coddington 'Hotrod' rims, and redo my suspension.
Today I spent the day in the garage tearing out my stocker navy/black seats and old console. I have new seats and console going in from an '02 trans am (full power too!). Seats are probably the easiest swap to do...4 bolts on the fronts and 2 on each side for the rear.
Here is the 4th gen console...not exactly a bolt up, but with some minor cutting it can look stock. (I havent cut yet, but I set it in there for an example)
...And here is the finished result. The seats were easy as hell, and I wired the power up to the lighter since it's never used....the console was a bitch..period. It took so much work and cutting to make it look halfway decent, and Im still not completly satisfied, overall it was worth the trouble though.
I blacked out the amber portion of my tailights too since I replaced the front amber signals with clear ones.

After 10 weeks (on the nose too), my Boyd Coddington wheels finally came in. 18x8 up front, and 18x10 out back!
I also redid the entire suspension in an 'off and on' period of about 2 weeks (that includes waiting for various parts I ordered later on). Changes included replacing the sway bars with Spohn's solid chrome-moly bars...these things are built to survive a war!!! I also swapped out the stock panhard bar and lower control arms for spohn adjustables, which will help keep the rubber on the road after dropping the ride height with an Eibach prokit spring set, and Bilstein HD shocks/struts all around. All this alone tightened the suspension up so that it felt like a new car...and with adding some Spohn Sub-frame connectors, this car feels like it's riding on rails!!! I also added a strut-tower brace, and wonderbar from Spohn which will made the steering even tighter! It's safe to say that these thirdgens are some of the tightest handling American cars, and have been proven to pull an excess of over 1 laterl 'g' on the skidpad!
This is an example of what a Clarbar and a 3 stage clean/polish/wax system can do for reflection!
