Took a few pics today (8/10/04) while down at the shop. I was told that in another week it'd be done.
New shots taken, unfortunately it is now Sept. 1st, and going on week 5. It was only supposed to take 2 total, so Im more than pissed. For two weeks the car looked barely touched, however progress is looking a little better now. The door handles are filled in, and the rear wiper unit is all shaved
Okay so it's now Oct. 8th and the car still has yet to be finished. But good news to me, the shop ordered new front and rear bumpers, new gfx, and a new windshield and Im getting it all free of charge. Also since my car is taking longer than expected I decided to give in and buy Hawks 5inch spoiler, to help complement the back. It was $340 shipped to my door, and although expensive I absolutley love it. The paint will be on as soon as the gfx come in, so it wont be long.....
K, so maybe a little longer than I thought. It's Oct. 21st, and no paint yet, but because it's taking so long, they decided to go with my original plan of Kandy Apple Red with a gold base, and some red flake thrown in. After about 5 coats of clear, and some serious wet-sanding and buffing, it'll look like the paint is still wet. The car is obviously just waiting on the gfx, as it's all primered and ready for paint
FINALLY! After waiting 4 months (and being promised it would be done in 1) my car is almost done and home. Figures as soon as it got done the snow is starting to come too so Ill have to store it right away.
Some of the pics I didnt rotate because since they're high res, they looked weird when rotated.
The paint is a tri-stage paintjob using a HOK metallic gold base, followed by multiple coats of HOK Kandy Apple Red, and lastly a good amount of clear. The pics are pretty raw for the paintjob because it had just got done and hasnt been wetsanded or buffed yet, and kandy doesnt seem to show up well in pics (but could also be the dim room). Enjoy.
