I finally found another set of PMDs and a power seat track.

Now I could not use the set of PMDs I originally wanted for RAIF. The cushions were a complete mess! They will be rebuilt and used else where I’m sure.

What I did do is find a set in the junk yard in an 82 6000LE. Yep, you heard me right. Also found a set in an 82 Grand AM. So check your 82 Pontiacs in the yards!

Now the 6000LE was a 4 door, so there was no folding option. I had to actually swipe the side hinges of another set of 3rd gen seats, as well as the 3rd gen seat track! All that was swapped on and it worked great on the 6000’s PMD seat cushions! Plus, with these coming out of a car that had higher seats and stance, the cushions were in perfect condition, unlike 3rd gen seats.

The 82-84 3rd gen power seat track was going to go in RAIF, but the floor pan in the 82-84’s is slightly different where the seat belts connect. See the earlier 3rd gens did not have the additional seat belt retractor on the floor. So the power seat track designed for the 82-84 cars will not fit in the 87-92 cars.

RAIF’s new front PMDs and deluxe split folding rear seats, got black Hampton vinyl covers with red inserts from Hawk’s Third Gen. I got to see a set of seats covered in this vinyl a few months back and they were awesome. I preferred them to the leather that covered Joe’s 97 SS seats. They were soft and had a leather look and feel!

Here are the pics with the covered seats installed:

Ok with the red and black, I have now done away with all the silver and gray...I have a full set of black cargo & door panels in RAIF. I of course had to sound proof these on the backsides, as well as, revinyl the exterior of the panels. They got red Hampton vinyl inserts, in the same area where my old panels had black inserted. The piping went black. It’s very bold and flashy. The door panels also got trimmed.

Once my mother saw my interior, she thinks it too much red, but she felt the Hampton vinyl and said it felt better then the leather seats in my step dad's new Dodge truck!
Of course we would not tell him that! :)
