DASH REPAINT
************************************************************************************************************************
Well I was going to strictly red & black in the car and the only remaining silver was the dash.

Now I could go to a junk yard and find a black dash and swap it all over, but it would require taking literally the whole dash out of the car & swapping it.
If I was doing a major repair, like a heater core & had to go that deep it would be one thing. And I was on a deadline, the Trans Am Nationals, and I flat was not going to devote that much time on something that would be so easy to just paint. Plus all the red in the vents would all have to be redone as well. There was no sense in it, so I opted to use the paint I used on my center console. It had done a beautiful job & looked factory. It was made by PlastiKote.

It stated it had a flex agent in it and it was a semi gloss black finish. That was exactly what I needed. The flex agent is a must on pieces that are pliable. The satin would give me the same luster as the factory pieces.
So I cleaned everything with degreaser on a red scotch brite pad. The followed with dish soap on the scotch brite pad. This cleaned everything of the old silicone used to preserve and protect it and scuffed it at the same time. Then I rinsed & dried everything.
Then on to the masking. I taped the vents & draped the interior.

Then I sprayed everything black.

It came out very nice. Joe has the black dash stock from the Factory in his TA and the finish after the paint looks identical to his.
Here is the passenger side with everything reinstalled.
