"How-To"
I guess ill start w. all my RE-Wires which im sorry i dont have alot of pics of b/c I fucked w. these rewire jobs for 2 nights. Mostly bc of Maxima.org forums had the wrong fucking colors of wires to be spliced. but I wont lead u astray.
This mod is quite easy and will make your sidemarkers blink oppostite yur original turn signals which is quite nice to see at night. If u have any wire experience or can simply follow instructions give this mod a try
Front and Rear Side Marker into Turn Signal Rewire (same wires all the way around)
MATERIALS NEEDED; SPOOL OF WIRE 14-16 GAUGE, SPLICE CONNECTORS LIL BLUE PIECES WHICHEVER U PREFER, SMALL ZIP TIES OR ELEC TAPE AND A WIRE CUTTER/ SPLICER TOOL
*ID ADVISE DISCONNECTING YOUR BATTERY AS I BLEW MORE THAN A FEW FUSES DOING THESE INSTALLS OR REMOVE BULBS OR FUSES THATS YOUR CHOICE THOUGH*
1.Remove the Grey carpet material in the back should be only ab 3 clips to bend it back and gain acess to yur wiring for your tail lamps and sidemarkers. In the front just pull your sidemarkers away from the bumper w. a covered flat head screwdriver and strip the tape away to gain acess to the 2 wires.
2. Your side markers only have a RED and BLACK wires obviously power and ground and your turn signals are the same except they have a GREEN wire which must be the wire for making the lights blink.(LEAVE RED WIRE ALONE ONLY BLACK AND GREEN MATTER)
3. Strip away black tape going to turn signal bulb assembly (twist bulb assembly out of its spot to have more acces to wire harness behind it) Find that GREEN(Front turn signals on mine were Green/Black)wire that leads into the turn signal bulb(same all the way around whatever side F or R).
4. Once youve gained acess to your wires Splice a completely new wire into the GREEN turn signal wire, and make your new wire long enough to reach stres free fromt he turn signla down to the sidemarker on the side of the bumper. Then take your new wire run it to the sidemarker(there are a few good holes in the metal upfront area that will lead right down to your side markers). This process was easier than I thought itd be just use enough wire and it WIll make it down to your sidemarker.
5. Take your new wire that you just ran and splice that into the BLACK wire going into the sidemarker bulb assembly. (reconnect battery or insert bulb)
This is how your setup should look once youve spliced into the turning signals:
6.a Test it out by turning on your parking lights and sidemarkers they should still come on w. yur parking lights the only difference is they just will now blink once u hit your turning signal on that side w. yur original parking lights
6b.(Optional step) Cut the end of the BLACK wire going into the car as it is no longer needed in the loop b.c yur sidemarkers will still work as b4
7.Zip tie and electrical tape all new wire bundles or anything u stripped to keep the job clean and wires away from any chafing.
Then Repeat for all sides.
