This little truck is up sale.
This Is my truck a few weeks after I first got it home.

It's a 1982 GMC Caballero. To those of you who still wonder if it's a car or a truck, it is very simple. GMC never made a car. This is a GMC.

I bought this little gem in the fall of 2001 from it's original owner. These are pictures of her from January 2002 prior to doing any body repairs and paint. The originl owner had backed into a few things in a parking lot. Other than the dings in the rear corners of the rear quarters some minor surface rust the body was pretty clean and straight. The frame is solid. The original owner told me a few things about this truck that I take with a grain of salt. First being that it was the last 1982 Caballero to leave the assembly plant, and that it's the last Caballero sold new in Canada. Since he worked at GM and could access the company's computer system at the time the truck was being built, he might be right.
I still can't prove or disprove what he told me then, but I can say that in 1982 only 2654 Caballeros were built and only 225 were sold new in Canada that year. From the original order form and the bill of sale I do know that it was built late may 1982. the way build and build sheet could tell me more but I do not know how to read GM's assembly and date codes.
I did have to get the truck apparised for insurance coverage and in it's current condition it's worth $13,500. It is a rare little truck, with a bit of research to see if this truck is indeed the last one built for Canada that could change it's value. Should that be the case then it should be kept in concours condition and not the show/cruise night condition that I've been keeping it in.
If any of you know how to read the factory waybill and know for sure if there were new Caballero sold in Canada after 1982 please let me know.

Here it is at the 2003 London Balloon Festival car show. due to poor turn out it has been the last year of that car show, wet grass, cars and balloons go figure.

It is a base un optioned truck, and her heart is a 3.8 Buick V6. When I got her she had the following options: AM/FM Delco radio, tinted glass, cloth seats, colour keyed seat bealts. I've added/changed the following: a Delco AM/FM Cassette stereo, dual sport mirrors driver's side remote, factory ralley wheels, GM rubber floor mats, Grand prix/lemans fender to rad support braces

Even with these new personal plates I still get asked what year it is!

Winter 2004

If you noticed I got my custom bed cap on the truck, it is still in primer and unfinished. When finished it will be painted to match the truck and when on the truck will give it a sedan delivery look.

Here are some of the dash plaques and tropy plaques I've collected with the truck.

Spring 2005 with new tires.

My buddy Steve's Garage and his car collection has been featured on Speed Vision's Dream Car Garage. Every spring he hosts one of the bigest southwestern Ontario car shows.
Here are some shots of my truck taken at the 2005 Fleetwood farms country cruize-in.

I thought that I had found myself a nice spot in the shade of a huge tree. Though the shade was nice, my truck is hidden from view in this picture taken from one of the many planes that were flying over head that day!

On a side note it only took me two years to get Cardomain to put Caballero under GMC. I wasn't about to put my GMC under Chevy ElCamino, cause it's not a Chevy or an ElCamino. SO my Caballero is the first GMC Caballero listed here at Cardomain as a GMC Caballero.
Finally I would like to sell this little jem, so if interested leave me a note in the guest book, and remember I said sell not give away.

for those who think that a 110 horse buick 231ci V6 is not much fun, it has torq and will light up both rear tires!
