Hi, my name is Sabine, I'm living in Austria and This is me and Jaqueline, my Buick Skylark Limited:
I've won an auction at ebay on a Dodge Daytona, but that Dodge was such a mess that I didn't want to take it and offered to guy who's sold it (a dealer) to pay 30% of the price and leave the Dodge there so that he can sell it to somebody else. But the dealer offered me to take the Buick instead for the same amount I'd have to pay for the Dodge. The Buick looked so much nicer, that I couldn't resist and so I got "Jaqueline"
But that arse has dragged me over the table anyway. Meanwhile I found out that Jaqueline's engine has a worn out connecting rod bearing and so she won't survive for very much longer unless an expensive repair will be done. The repair will cost around $2400 and I've paid only $600 for the whole car. I'm quite desperate now, but I'm not giving up.
I don't want to sell Jaqueline again. So I searched the internet for parts since it's literally impossible to get any here in Austria. Finally I found somebody in Salzburg county who's got an '88 Skylark with a good engine. Now I need to find a way how to get that one dragged to Vienna. I need some trailer or so to transport it over 300 miles. But I'll handle that somehow and get Jaqueline a new heart!
Here we are both. That was the day when I got her registered and received my new licence plates. I didn't know that she's got those problems. I drove her for a while until I found out. First I thought it's only a leaking radiator that has to be replaced. Now it's the entire engine. What a mess!
Jaqueline is such a nice car. She deserves to be saved! She was registered in Switzerland for almost 16 years and came to Austria last year. The last owner must have been a real arsehole! The car has been very well maintained throughout the years. That much is obvious. But now the cruise control and AC don't work anymore, the radiator is leaking and the engine's f****d up!
Inside Jaqueline is in nearly mint condition. The seats are clean and there are no rips or torns. The premium stereo has a much better sound than my stereo at home. There's only one minor problem with the headlights. Once I turn 'em on, the instrument lights go out, which is a little emberassing at night. If this was the only problem, I wouldn't even mention it...
