Day 1

Went to pick up the 1921 Model T Roadster Pickup. Pulled it out of the barn not knowing what to expect. It was covered with a 1/2 inch of dirt. July 2004

Day 2
Started to clean up the Model T and it turns out to be in excellent shape after sitting in the barn for about 30 years.

Day 3
Started to remove all the panels of pickup, to see what I have to work with. All the panels had only surfacfe rust, the splash panels above the running boards did have some server rust on the bottom channel where it connects to the running board. The frame had mostly surface rust with some flaking.

Day 4
Continue work on removing all the frame pieces and engine in preparation for sandblasting the frame and paint. Next step is to tear down and rebuild the motor and tranny.

Day 5
Pulled the motor off today and then removed the oil pan.

Day 6
Disassembled the motor. Found One valve stuck open, and the rear main bearing was in pretty bad shape. Cylinder walls were smooth with no scraps.

Engine block fully disassembled.

Day 7
Pieces lay all over the garage. Currently looking for someone that can pour babbit bearings. Next step is to get the frame sandblasted and painted before working on the body panels.

Day 8
Frame and suspension has been sand blasted and primed

Tore body apart for sanblasting

Day 9
Body panels sandblasted and prime. Found alot of cancer spots on seat back and passenger and driver side body panels

Day 10
Front and rear axle back from being rebuit and painted

Also picked up the new wood wheels on trade for some old wire wheels. Also had the radiator recored and the split rims repaired and painted.

Day 11
Started putting primer on all the frame parts.

Day 12
Started to put on the final coat of paint

Have a few more items to finish painting, then it will be time to start assembling the frame. The body panels have yet to be painted, but it won't be too much longer.

Day 13
Put the frame back together - now have a rolling chassis

Finished putting the truck bed back together after refinishing the sides.

Painted the cabs body panels and took the rolling chassis to a man to do the wood work. Work continues on rebuilding the transmission.

Day 14
Got the truck back after getting the wood re-done on the body and the top bows.

Also picked up the completed motor and tranny

Next is to finish the painting on the outside of the body, the rest of the fenders and the new wood.

Day 15
Test fitted the fenders.

Set the motor and radiator in place.

Finished painting the body and wood.

Moved Model T to new shop to finish the work

Been working on the wiring to start the motor - It's Alive!!

Getting closer to being finished.

All body work is complete. Took the T for it's first test drive once I figured out how to drive it.

Loading the T on the trailer to go get the upholstery done.

The Model T restoration is now complete 3/4/06, just picked up the T from getting the upholstery done. Once the T was off the trailer we had fun driving around the Texas hillcountry.
