avatar382's 1987 Subaru XT

Subaru XT's are unique. You don't see them very often - but if you do - watch out! These cars were among Subaru's first performace machines. My car has a few mods, put in by previous owners, that pack quite a punch. It really is an absolute blast to drive.

It's previous owner has run mid 14's in it on a wet track, and the car can keep up with a stock WRX.

Under the hood:
1.8L flat four, multipoint EFI, turbocharged
5 speed manual
IHI VF11 turbo
WRX cats, 3" straight pipe
Ford Thunderbird top-mount intercooler
Delta performace camshafts
TurboXS manual boost controller
K&N air filter
XT6 suspension
XT6 clutch, lightened flywheel
Subaru AWD system with rear limited slip diff
16" 2.5 RS wheels w/ 205/45/16 Kumho Ecsta Supra 712's

It makes about 200HP, up from 115HP stock. That's a lot for car that weighs about 2500 pounds. It's driven daily at 11 psi, but can be turned up to 14-15 psi!

Hey nice Subie!! You should check out MySubie.com. It's a new Subaru social network w/ tools to help enthusiasts find parts, reviews, mods, pics, events, and more. Let me know what you think.

That's pretty nice, I always liked the XT models. I knew a lot of Subaru guys in Seattle, we called them Subaru "doorstops" because of their straight cut wedge shape... I thought doorstop was less corny than "cheese wedge". I'll get one of the Alycone models eventually, either the older XT or the newer SVX. Both models are super cool.
