BUILD DIARY
1977 Ford Mustang II Coupe, Factory 302, C4.

This is what the car should look like when it's done. This is a photoshop of my II.

This is how the car looked when I brought it home, May 1st 2004. It ran, but needed a front seal in the transmission. Paid $350 for it. The car had been sitting for 4 years before I got it.77MustangII's 1977 Ford Mustang

Waited 2 months to get the title squared away before any work began.
July 2nd 2004 title was completed.
Sanding and dissassembly began immediately thereafter.
The rust on the oil pan was taken care of to prevent any further corrosion. It was done while still in the car, the front suspension and engine will be rebuilt later anyway.
Degreased, wire brushed, sanded, rust converter applied and painted.

The majority of parts needed to build this car have come from ebay, these three II's in the junkyard, and Stangnet.com, MustangII.net and MustangII.org. Not to mention the wealth of information taken from these three websites. This restoration would not be possible without the knowledge and advice of the people in these forums. I thank you all.77MustangII's 1977 Ford Mustang

8-8-04, front clip removed. Begin sanding, painting, and repairing anything that needs it in the fenderwells.

Found 2 rust spots about a pea size each on the drivers side front support. I don't think these tiny holes are going to be anything to worry about.
I coated it with rust inhibitor and then it got the same treatment as the rest of the fenderwells. I know it's there, so I will keep an eye on it.
8-24-04, fenderwells completed. Degreased, stripped, primed, painted, and 2 coats of undercoating.

Fenders got the same treatment as the fenderwells. I did'nt strip the factory undercoating on the fenders, I did'nt see the point in it, I figured that's even more rust protection.
Everything mechanical and electrical got a once over while body panels were removed.
Fenders completed and front clip back together on 9-12-04.

A couple shots inside the shop with II parts everywhere, a common sight.
