This page is of a box that I built for my friends Ram. This is a simple box to build and it looks and sounds great. I just thought I would share this with all of you incase your looking for an idea for a box.

These are the subs he chose. Polk/Momo 10s

First I got the black tray out of his truck and used it to design my box. I wanted to ensure a perfect fit and a stock look.. He lives in AZ and I was building the box in CA. As you can see the bottom of the box is sitting in the tray.

I then built the frame ( sides and internal braces ) The subs called for .66 ci of volume so that is why I have a negative void in the structure.. but it came in handy as it was a great place to run the wires.

The top was then cut out.. I turned the black tray over and traced out the top on a piece of wood. I wasnt sure how good it would come out but it matched perfectly.. just lucky I guess.

This is a top view after the box was glued and screwed.. together. As you can see I put a BUNCH of screws in it..and then I filled them in with wood filler.

This is a front/side view of the box sitting inside the tray. I used liquid nails to bond the two together.

I then used an expandable insulation foam to fill any gaps between the box and the tray. It looks horrible but it will all be covered up later.

This is were I took a tshirt material and pulled it over the box and plastic tray, I then used fiberglass resin to harden it and bond it to the two surfaces.

After it was dry I trimmed away any extra material. Its not shown here but I layed down a layer of fiberglass cloth to give it extra strength. Remember the box itself is airtight.. so this was just to make a strong surface over the gap between the box and the tray.

This is the top view of the enclosure. I covered it with vinyl and used a proff. staple gun to staple the vinyl to the back of the box where it wouldnt be seen. I also glued the vinyl to the backside of the tray. and then cut slits in the holes and dropped the subs in.

This is the end result from the front. You can also see the subs on the top. All in all this was a pretty easy project and it came out pretty good. It fit perfectly in his truck and sounded amazing.

Sorry about the pics being so horrible.. I took them with my phone while I was building.

I will take pics of it in his truck when I get my digital camera.

Let me know if you have any questions...
