Question: Should I maintain this site and add to it? Springs & Camber Kit Install, Door panel re-upholstery, etc?

CHROME WINDOW TRIM BLACKOUT

DIFFICULTY LEVEL 0= Basic common sense.
(Hardest=5 Easiest=0)
TOTAL COST $6 (Not Including Utility or Xacto Knife)
TOOLS=Utility Knife, Xacto Knife, or razor blade

Anything like what is pictured here, or even a sharp pocket knife will do the trick

The product used in this modification is called "Black Out Tape" it is manufactured by a company called

"Trim Brite" Click and Scroll to the bottom of the TrimBrite page (No Pic, only description and part number), TrimBrite Part #T-9005, it can be found at most auto parts stores, I bought mine at "Advance Auto Parts" a.k.a "Discount Auto Parts" a.k.a. "Parts America"............I think "Pepboys" also stocks it,..... and I hate "Auto Zone" because they never have what I need, so if I were you I wouldn't waste my time going there. It comes packaged similar to the picture below, and is supplied in a roll, also pictured below (out of the package).

It is made of a semi-reflective material similar to vinyl and its' physical properties are also much like vinyl. It stretches and can go on curved surfaces, wrapped around things, it can be applied to almost any Clean surface, and yes it will have bubbles if you don't apply it slowly and progressively.

CLEAN the surface, make sure it is completely clean. Use alcohol to remove the non-water soluble materials, use soap and water for everything else, every grain of sand will leave a mark in the tape. Simply unroll it , cut it to size, (allow an inch or so of extra length to make it easier to work with), remove a small peice of the protective backing, stick it to one end of the section of trim you intend to black out, and slowly start to apply it, pressing out all the bubbles for a smooth finish, and as you go continue to peel away the backing............... .............Do Not try to wrap it around the trim until you have the entire peice partially secured to the the trim.............

Next wrap one end around the end of the trim and work your across forming
the bottom then the top, so that the entire width of the tape is overlapping on to the body of the car and up on to the window (I did this already ,so my pictures are for reference only)

Now that the entire peice is wrapped around the ends and formed over the trim you can trim the excess off,
be careful becuase the tape is thin and it is easy to cut portions that you wanted to stay intact. After you cut off the excess

...you're done! Congradulations!
