Okay, so I bought the car with the hopes of "tuning" it, and maybe "street-racing" it. I figured, "Hey, it's a Honda, there has to be all sorts of incredibly cheap aftermarket parts for it." Well I was terribly wrong. Aftermarket support for the car is extremely sparse, as they are heavier cars, and most owners are more concerned with cosmetics and audio, rather than performance.
Anyway, I get the car, spend about $1,000 on various parts to keep it drivable and in decent asthetic condition. After all that cash, there is little-to-no bolt-on (read: "beginner") performance add-ons to choose from. First was the intake route. A trip to eBay, $20 and a 1/2 hour installation in 30-degree weather later and I have some cheap intake installed. It gives the car a destinctive sound; a very audible whistle at certain throttle possitions.
Some-time after that, with some guidance from the good folks at Acura-Legend.com, I learned that coilovers designed for a 1997 V6 Accord coupe would work fine with my Legend. I wasn't ambitios enough to tackle the suspension myself with my little automotive know-how, and less resources, so I had a local "tuner shop" whom I was friendly with do the install for $150 (parts included).
After the lowering, I decided that I was done dumping money into the Legend. It just wasn't going to get fast enough as a street car to warrant more money; being a heavy FWD. Nor could I competively Auto-x it due to its weight and the fear of reliability issues. Of course I've taken part in the odd street-race. It just isn't fast. Sure it'll beat the average D-series civic, non-turbo RX-7, 1st Gen 240sx, and most those other fad-cars... but that's not nearly satisfying enough to warrant the blatant disrespect for the law.
