This is my 2.3l 1989 Mustang lx
I started out with a $150 car that my dad bought for my birthday. After me and my dad painted the car we also put some cobra rims on it. The car looked pretty good and it made people look but it was far from proforming that way it looked. The car came with an 88hp 2.3l 4 cylinder. the car was slow, and i mean slow and to make thing worse it was an automatic(not that i have anything aginst them).My car ran an outstanding 21.37 @67mph in the 1/4 mile at my home track somoa dragstrip. I had begged my dad to let me put a 5.0 in my car but he refused he cept saying that i will hurt my self or even kill my self because thay have to much power. So now that a 5.0 was out of the question me uncle came to me ad asked me if i had ever heard of an SVO mustang. That night i went home and did some reserch and it was all over from there . IF I CANT HAVE A V8 THEN ILL MAKE MY 4 BANGER FASTER THAN A V8.

I'm currently doing an engine swap by adding a new turbocharged 2.3l engine.
The engines out of an 1987 toubocoupe.
I had the machine work done ant wallys engine shop the crank has been surfaced and i added speed pro pistons.I ported and polished the head and had over sized vilves installed. Ported intake and custome upper intake and much more. I ran the engine with the automatic and my best time was a 14.23 @ 101mph what an improvement. Sence our 2005 drag season is over i have now installed a World class t5 5 speed trans , a 65mm throttle body,tubular header turbonetics T50 turbo and there 38mm waste gate,and a custome 3in down pipe. I am expecting low 13s now. [{new pics on last page}]

hey man my car is running now but the carb is messed up so Im thinking about going ahead and switch my motor to EFI. anyways come check out my page again.

Awesome car! Really would like to get in touch with you, I have a 89 stang convert, just rebuilt. Weisco pistons, aluminum head, roller cam, ect. Wanting to put a turbo on it later on. What I would really like to talk to you about is how you hooked up your reverse gauges. I have the same ones and am having a lot of problems with them right now. Anyway, great job man, I hope mine will be nice like yours one day.
