Here are more pictures of work that I have done

If you look you will see that there are sport mirrors on the doors now. I got those off e-bay for only 22 dollars. They were listed as malibu mirrors and they snuck by other buyers so they didn't hit the normal 60-100 dollar mark.

If you look you can see that I installed the carpet in this picture. I also put down extra insulation to help keep the heat and noise out (and it works, I recommend this to everyone).

The in dash radio gave out and I wanted something more modern so I installed this radio that I had sitting upstairs in my room. I had to special make the compartment for the radio. To do so, I attached the box to the seat by installing a cabinet handle to the box and running a bungee cord, through the handle, to the frame of the seat. This is a simple, cost effective solution that does not impede the seats mobility.

The new radio didn't like the weak signal that came from the stock in windshield antenna so I fabricated up this bracket and mounted a new antenna onto the back of the cab.

I painted all the interior panels and for some reason these two didn't take the paint and are flaking. I don't know if the body flexes there or if I just did a horrible job of prepping the panels but at some point I am going to have to pull them back out and paint them again.

You really can't see much from this picture of the engine but I thought I would tell you a little about the mechanical work I have done lately:
The alternator had a short in it causing the idiot light inside the cab to come on even though it was still working. This kinda scared me because I drive on the interstate in Atlanta and I wouldn't know if the alternator really was bad so I just changed it. Another contributing factor was the fact that because this was a generic GM that shared parts with every other car for so many years the alternator only cost 20 bucks.
I adjusted the valves because they had started to make a little noise. They were only just loose so no damage was done so it wasn't much more of a job than changing the valve cover gaskets. Unfortunately on this car taking the drivers side valve cover involves completely removing the ac compressor and loosening the bracket that attaches to the intake manifold.
The carburetor began to leak around the accelerator pump so I decided to change it before the leaking gas started an engine fire. Once I got that new carb tuned man does she purr.
I also had to replace the spark plug wires. I had a cheep set of wires and they succumb to some heat that caused them to split and start shooting one inch sparks to the exhaust manifold. I didn't cheep out this time and purchased good accel wires. Hopefully these will stand up better.
