I found this Beemer searching a couple of months on the internet. It was near Cologne, in Germany, owned by a private person. We made some phone calls with the owner, he sent me some xtra pictures, and I thought this looks good. I flew to Germany, and checked out the car. It was what I was looking for. Excellent condition, previous owners had it kept in a garage, so there was not a lot of rust on it at all.

The car has been under a lot of modifications for the last few months. Most of the mods are done on the engine. The head was ported and polished. The combustion chambers were redone to match the new pistons. The pistons are oversize racing type made by Mahle. The head was also updated with a new camshaft by Schrick with new lifters. Thus the compression ratio raised to 10,6:1 from the original 10:1. Also the original exhaust manifold has been replaced by a supersprint type of exhaust headers. From the headers the gases are flowing through 2" stainless steel pipes all the way to the end, with only one free flowing end muffler. The chip in the Motronic system has been reprogrammed to match the changes. There is still some fine adjustment to be done, in order to get the optimal horsepower out of this beast. So far the goal has been to keep it naturally aspirated. That of course is challenging considering more hp. There is a turbocharging set that I have...in case this vehicle needs to really fly!
