So now that the white car was gone, it was back to the searching process... technically I had made no progress, only a little extra money for the project plus some very useful knowlege. I learned a lot from that first car, I know knew that I couldn't stand that maroon interior, so I decided I would try my hardest to stay away from that. I understood more about pricing, and knew a lot more about just what I was looking for. Plus I gained just a little bit of confidence that I worked well with cars! Unfortunately, It was time to go back to school and that meant I was a whole semester away from continuing the project. But I didn't let that get me down, instead, I began searching the local classifieds from school every day. I seriously looked from late August mid Novemebr with no luck, and I began regretting selling the white car as I saw Christmas break approaching. On November 16 I spotted an ad for a 1986 RX-7 GXL with motor trouble, for $600. I crossed my fingers and called the guy up... when he answered he told me that the car was sold. However I talked things over with him, and told him that I would give him cash in hand (via my dad back home) the next day. He told me that he really didn't want to sell it to the first guy because he was a real ass, and was going to put it in a demo race or something. So the next day, after a quick inspection by my dad, and after 5 benjamins, I was the proud owner of this "project".

The car is a little rough around the edges to say the least. Its original red is poking thru all over the place and its altogether crap. But, the body is in incredibly straight and rust free condition. The motor actually runs, but I am not even going to tempt myself :)... I don't care, it's comin' outa there!
