I Bought this car July 5th, 2004. I ran across it in an autotrader and Talked to the owner immediately. I had been looking for one for a long time. The Owner told me that it was originally his fathers who had bought it in 1982 and then gave it to him 5 years ago. The car had been Meticulously Maintained for the 22 years the family had owned it. They had always Kept it garaged and San Diego weather is always perfect so the cars original Paint and body parts were exactly as they were when it rolled out of the factory. It is a Beautiful car and ran so perfectly, I had to make a deal. I made an offer... $1500 and he said $1650 and we have a deal! I couldn't believe I scored this collectable car for so CHEAP! My plans for it now are to keep it as original as possible but I am going to rebuild the engine and tranny to original specs. and then eventually do a frame off restoration of this keeper.
