After the ottawa event, the engine was severely weakened by severe detonation in the number 2 cylinder. The engine finally deteriorated until noticeable loses in power were noted. Below is a picture of the resultant cylinder after the detonation.

The spark plug on the left is the #2 cylinder plug which was the damaged cylinder. The center is the #1 cylinder which was on its way out. And the spark plug on the right is simply for comparison purposes.

This was the exhaust side valve of the #2 cylinder which had mashed bits of aluminum when it was first removed. If you look closely in the picture, severe pitting is visible from these bits of aluminum.
