This is my 1976 Chevy Nova Right now it's totally stock. It has the original 250 Inline 6 Cylinder engine with a Saginaw 3 speed with a column shifter. I plan on adding a bit more horse power eventually, but for now it gets such good gas mileage I'm going to leave it like it is. Since I do alot of driving I need all the mileage I an get!
From the back Decorated for Christmas Shining in the sun Close up in front of my dad's 1969 C-10, Which he wrecked. From the side Close up from the other side These are engine pics. It's not much now but some day either this engine, or a new Chevy SB, will glow Chevy orange again. This is a picture of my new HID headlight conversion kit at night. This is my old muffler after it was removed. As you can see there was a large hole in the middle of it. It really needed to be replaced. This is what I replaced the muffler with. A cherry-bomb glass pack. Although not very loud on my 250 it gives the engine a little more kick. And it does have a quiet, low rumble now. After Hurricane Ivan I need to take it to the car wash. It was covered with leaves and mud. Here's a pic of my freshly washed Nova!
UPDATE.
After driving this car unmoddifed for almost 6 years, at 250k miles and 3 quarts of oil a week, it is time to rebuilt the engine. Here are some pictures of it hanging from the engine jack ready to be lowered back in. I decided to keep the 6 cyl because gas is too expensive now days to justify a V8. Maybe someday when the Nova is no longer the daily driver.

I have a 76 nova 4 door too. Mine is a Concourse, it is loaded with options. I got mine for about $400, it has appliance wheels that look like Cragars, new tires, I just redid the interior. It has the 250 six motor with auto, I assume a powerglide. Runs really good, I haven't had it on the road yet, I'm working on it, I have a 67 mustang, a 59 studebaker, a 60 valiant and several others, but the stang and nova are my faves. Love you nova, its awesome.
