New Shop
After 7 months on the market, my home in Lafayette finally sold. I purchased this shop out in unincorporated Weld County. Oh yeah, a house also came along with it. The shop is 1,500 sq ft and the house is 1,360 sq ft. Seems like about the right size ratio to me.

The house and shop sit on 1.25 acres in an older subdivision built around a private air strip.

The overhead doors are 10' x 12'. I added a garage door opener to the one on the left that will open it to the top. There is also a wide service door at each end of the shop.
Fourteen florescent light fixtures have been added to make working at night easy on the eyes. This shop was originally constructed as a wood working shop. There are 9 220v outlets in the floor which serviced various machinery. There are also 3 other 220v outlets on the walls.

The rear of the shop is partitioned into 3 rooms and an entryway from the rear service door. From the left are the compressor room, parts room, bathroom and entryway.
The north side of the shop has built in work tables along most of its length. There is also a refrigerator and microwave for refreshments and a stereo with XM radio for entertainment while working on projects.

The shop is heated with a gas fired radient heat tube running the length of the shop. I recently added a large swamp cooler for the Summer weather. The translucent light panels provide enough light to work comfortably without the lights turned on in the daytime.
The compressor room. Also serves as storage for larger tools such as the engine hoist, engine stand and media blast cabinet.

The parts room is small and lined with shelving for storage of parts and supplies.
The bathroom has a toilet, utility sink and shower. It is also a good space to store the Miata hardtop.
