I ordered this 05 Mustang GT last May and received it in Nov. 04. What a blast to drive. Ford seems to have gotten this car right with somewhat retro styling but a completely modern car. It looks good (depending on your taste) handles great and goes like hell.
I've just started modding the car and as you can see I've mainly started with the engine bay. I add a Steeda CAI with an Xcalibrator flash unit. This added 27 HP and 22 ft. lbs. of torque at the rear wheels. I've also added a Steeda strut tower bar and numerous Steeda billet engine parts. All of the billet parts have been powder coated a candy red. I've also added chrome and red chrome wire loom to the engine bay.
In the interior I've added Steeda door lock pins (powder coated candy red), billet AC knobs and a billet power plug outlet. I've also have Steeda floor mats on order with red Steeda inserts.
So far the only mods on the exterior are the red painted calipers and I have a billet antenna on order which will be powder coated black. I just received a Steeda rear billet badge which will be powder coated candy red. And being a complete gear head I'm sure there's many more mods to come.
I received the billet rear badge and had it powdercoated red. I also got the antenna powdercoated black. I've also added UPR billet pedals and a Hurst shift knob which is powder coated red, black and the Hurst name was left it's original billet cover.
When I received the Xenon rear quarter window scoops I was somewhat leary as to what they would look like. But after I got them painted and installed I think I like the retro look. I've also red anodized the GT emblems on the side of the car to go with the red/black/chrome theme.
I now have on order the SLP Loudmouth axle back straight pipes and a new black trunk mat with red GT emblem in the middle of the mat from GG Bailey. Man, when will the mods ever end?
Well I received and installed the trunk mat from GG Bailey and the SLP Loudmouth exhaust. Both awsome products. The new exhaust is really nice. A much better, louder sound without being obtrusive.
I've also just installed a set of hood pins and a new plenum cover from Midwest Auto. I had the part of the hood pins that lay flat on the hood powdercoated candy apple red and left the rest of the hood pins chrome. The new plenum cover from Midwest Auto is really a nice addittion and is of very high quality and it really cleans up the engine bay.
In the interior I recovered the middle arm rest in red leather to go along with my theme of black, red and chrome. Well, that's all of the mods for now, next it's going to be 410 gears.
I've recently installed the 4.10's and what a difference they make. Quicker off the line and it now pulls harder in each gear. I've also recently installed rear quarter panel scoops from Cervinis, mirror covers from Xenon (i'm not crazy about these), had the wheels powder coated black and added BRS chrome spinners with cobra center caps. I've also added the MRT hood struts which I had powder coated candy red. Next up is Street Scenes new grill with center mount fog lights and then BBK's new 62MM throttle body.
3/7/2006 - Here's what I've done lately. I've installed the Street Scene's new grill with the fog lights located closer together. I went with the black powdercoated grill since my car is black. I also added 1968 Cobra emblems on the grill and eliminated the GT emblems on the sides of the car and went with the Cobra emblems. It was nice to get rid of some plastic and go with real metal. I also installed Steeda's new cowl induction hood. They make a great hood and it fit very well and is much more aggressive looking while helping to add more cold air. I had Precision Auto Rebuild paint the underside and the side of the hood black and the center part a special three step candy apple red. Sorry but the pictures don't do the color of the hood justice. It looks really great in the sunlight. I then installed Steeda's charge motion plates. Mabey about 10 more HP. I also changed my heat/vent knobs from Steeda billet knobs to MCW chrome knobs. I also added MCW's new chrome brake handle. Well that's it for now. Next up is some new hood pins and probably BBK's new throttle body. I'd also like to upgrage the rotors to some slotted and drilled ones but only time and money (or lack of) will tell.
