My next project...a 1996 Toyota Corolla 1.3XE
Pure stock except for a Pioneer High power CD player with FM/AM tuner replacement for the Fujitsu Ten-built Toyota Radio/Cassette player, Pioneer 6.5" 3-way rear speakers to replace the busted originals, power locks, an Eton Vehicle Security System installation, and...dirt on the floormats. I should get a better picture next time.
The electronic power doorlock switch (up/down) near the handbrake lever
Installed DIY cupholders available only on higher-end models
Odometer shows just 14,168kms for this very seldom-used car.
No modifications for the weak but really practical 1.3-liter engine. With fuel prices increasing almost every month, the miserly consumption of the Toyota 2E engine is a blessing!
Euro? USDM? JDM? Just new rims and subs? Any suggestions?
It looks like i am going for the JDM-Sprinter look to complement the two euro cars.
This is how it started, a local-market a 1996 EE100 Corolla(similar to a JDM-spec sedan)
This white JDM Sprinter Wagon has the same front bumper although unpainted. Only the grille is different.
Installed a JDM Sprinter Wagon grille last October 23, 2004 to change the look of the front and imitate the Sprinter Wagon:
For the Sprinter wannabe, surplus emblem on the trunk.

December 19, 2004: From the surplus shops got a Sprinter Sedan front bumper similar to the picture above complete with turn signal lights to complement the new grille. But up to now the bumper has not been painted and so cannot be installed yet. I will post a picture as soon is the bumper is installed.
January 9, 2005, Finally had the bumper painted. Had the rear bumper(right photo) repainted too to match the freshly painted front bumper.
January 15, 2005: I had wanted to do a DIY installation but was in a hurry so I had the people from the paintshop help me install the new bumpers to finish the new look(right) compared to the old stock look(left):
January 21, 2005: Installed DIY two-lid center console from the high-end GLi model
Decided to blacken the front bumper "teeth" with the help of a can of spray paint. Photos of the finished product soon...
August 16, 2005: From the Land of the Rising Sun, the coveted AE101 Levin OEM 15-inch rims:
They may not look much now but upon closer inspection, the rims are actually still quite fresh.
And as proof, after just some minor kerosene rubbing and soaping, there is a already a huge difference. Just a little more polishing and retouching the the finish is as good as new. No need to spend on having the rims repainted. Now if I can just find enough cash to get a new set of tires so i can use the rims. Time to open the piggy bank...
Finally put tires on the Levin Rims!
But exchanged them later on with the Marino Rims from the other Corolla
