Rear End, Theres a bumper filler missing under the right tail light. I have it, it just needs paint. Also I've restored the Buick Emblem and the American custom Coachworks Emblem. (sorry no pics, yet)

I own a website about the front wheel X-Cars from 1980 to 1985. The site is www.chevycitationforever.net. has information about swaps to technical information and has a forum and online repair manuals. Go check it out... Sly

I had no idea any conversion company had ever made Skylark or other GM x-body convertibles. I knew of Buick Riviera convertible conversions from that era, but the fact that there were also Skylarks come as a complete surprise. I thought I was the world's only enthusiast of the 1980-1985 Buick Skylark and I no longer feel alone. There is a long story about my enthusiasm for these cars and I won't bore you with the whole story other than to say it started with my unfortunately unsuccessful quest to order a new 1981 Buick Skylark the way I wanted it. I have two of them today, a Limited four door sedan and a Limited two door Landau coupe. The latter has 231,000 miles and is getting badly rusted from daily use. Both of my cars are rare in that they have manual transmission. The fact that I see people with these cars on a site like Car Domain gives me renewed hope of keeping and restoring mine and, who knows, maybe someday find a convertible version of them. Has anyone ever seen a convertible 1980-1985 GM x-body with manual transmission? I would also greatly appreciate information about good used, NOS, or reproduction parts.

Very cool Skylark. Until about 2 years ago there was an identicle gold Skylark Conv about a mile from me in Leawood, KS. Don't know where it is now. I have a '86 Honda c r x customized new into a convertible. I have been doing research and it is amazing how many quality conversions into convertibles were done in the late 70's and 80's. Most were top notch. You have a very interesting car. Glad you are saving it.
