RedFoxCB9's 1975 Alfa Romeo Spider

UPDATE(08/27/05): I still have my Alfa. I haven't been driving it much due to it only getting 7mpg and also being unreliable. Since my last update I've had to replace my water pump, fuel pump, and fuel filter. I've repainted the radiator and I've taken the entire heating and defrost unit out of the car. Upon taking it apart we found that the heater motor is completly fried and haven't been able to get a new one yet. I also have a new in-tank fuel sender, valve cover gasket and a few other parts that I haven't put on the car yet. Right now I'm considering selling it. I just don't have the time or money to really work on it and keep it.

This is my 1975 Alfa Romeo Spider that I just bought a few weeks ago (6/25/04) and it needs a few things but it runs pretty good it could probably use an overhaul. After I bought it I found out that there isn't a wiper motor in it so I just ordered one for $200 and there also wasn't an air filter so I ordered that for $19. It could use a new set of tires too. It's not much right now but it'll be a good project car. I'll post more and better pics as soon as I can as well as more details.

Well, let's see, since my last update I've gotten the wiper motor and put it in, the air filter still hasn't come yet but should soon. I just ordered a new vent window seal, the top seal for the convertible top, a new Alfa shift knob, new door seals, speedometer and tachometer cables and new stock exhaust minus the catalytic converter. I've pretty much redone most of the interior wiring to get all of the lights working, thanks to a wiring diagram I got from my local library. I also replaced the rear marker bulbs, reverse bulbs, and license plate bulbs. Also got the fuel gauge to work, ends up one of the wires wasn't connected to the fuel sender.

Well it's been awhile since I've updated. Let's see since my last update I have gotten it licensed and am now driving it. The air filters came and are now in, the exhaust still isn't all there because we're having trouble finding the downpipe and front muffler right now, it seems to be backordered from everywhere I've tried but my dad and I got it so that it passed inspection. I was having problems with my coil wire so I made a new one and it seems to have helped. My fuel gauge has stopped working again but I'm going to go through all of the connections as soon as I get a day off to do it. I also got new sway bar end link bushings put in as well as new caster bushings and a new set of 185/70/14 Bridgestone WeatherForce tires.

Hey Chris, I finally found your car! I think it looks great! Sometime I'll bring my tools up and we'll tear into that engine of yours and put in those parts that are just sitting there doing nothing. That's exciting! Don't sell!

Hey i think your spider is pretty damn good looking. Dont knock it. I'd definately recommend some of those carellos head light covers.
