This is Ol' Bessy in her Oringinal glory, this is how we found her. she was stock, and "Rusting in Peace" in my Grandfather's driveway
this is the back end of the truck
Soon restoration of the engine took place, we did all of the work ourselves, the only thing we sent out was the block to be cleaned and bored out. everything else, dissasembly, and assembly we did on our own.
Now we have proof that we did the paint and body work ourselves, as you can see the interior is pretty torn up to, but it is coming along, you can see that we had stripped the paint, and that we were satarting to fill in the dents with body filler. after that we sanded it down, primed it and re-did the filler, and such
after we primed, and sanded, and filled, and primed, and sanded and filled, and sanded, and filled, and primed, and filled and sanded. we soon got onto paint.
as you can see here this is the first layer of color that we shot onto the truck, that is why it appears to have a semi-dull finish. also you can see that this was performed in my garage, with many many filters. it was pretty interesting turning a garage into a dust proof paintbooth, but you know what it turned out pretty well. but anyway this is the first coat of color, followed by;
the first coat of clear, as you can now see, it has a shiny finish, hence the clear coat.. doesnt take a genious to figure that out. but after a little bit of assembly, and putting everything back on, headlights, taillights, grill, and so on. you finally get the finished product! and here she is.
After tons of hard work, headaches, sore muscles from all the sanding, busted knuckles from tightening, and all the joys of resotration, a new truck emerged from our Garage.
