WELCOME! (Last update: 05/07/2009)
I am finally retiring from the Navy after having returned from two exciting (no kidding...) deployments to Iraq and Africa. After being gone for 2.5 out of the last 4 years, I am finally "getting to know" my MX-6 again. Of course, when I came home the battery was stone dead because the glove compartment door had been left open. But after replacing it, the car started up smartly on the first try with almost no hint that it had been sitting idle for nearly 3 years. I do love this car.

Here are the "Before" photos of my car (and workhorse) in 100% original configuration at Mono Lake... and on another road trip past the Sierras....

... and here's the equally evil and hyper-caffienated driver, who also owns a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder SE.

I started modifying the car on 01 Jun 04 and began the web page on 11 Jun 04. Please come back and visit as I continue to tinker with both.... especially if you're an MX-6 owner. There isn't a particulary large aftermarket for MX-6 and Probes, so it really helps to see what other people are doing to modify their cars, and hopefully I (we) can generate some support for more aftermarket parts in the process. My intent here is not only to post stories and some cool or useful pics, but also to post detailed observations and experiences for the mods I do, and the effects of those mods if any significant change in my car's performance is noticed.
My current project(s):
Paint Brake Calipers
Short Shifter
Custom CAI
Relocate Ignition Mods

These web pages are a continual work in progress (just like my car), but your comments are most welcome. If you have any comments or questions, or more importantly, are willing to share your advice, experience, and expertise with me, please make an entry in my guest book. I'm also on the MX6.com, ProbeTalk.com, and DynoPerformance.com blogs under the nickname "barkster".
I'm an engineer by education, so I can handle all the detailed mechanical, electrical, and thermodynamics discussion you can throw at me, but until I began this project, I had never turned a wrench on this car except to change the tires and oil. (never HAD to do anything else, really... the car has been a miracle of endurance.)
My goal is NOT to race the car, but certainly to drive hard and fast and have fun on the highway and back roads.
When it comes to the motor, I'm interested in EFFICIENT power over raw power. Although, if the raw power comes efficiently, I'll take it.
Enjoy my web site! Please vote and sign the guest book. Thanks.
