This is the Head Unit installation page

This one's a quicky. I already had the hard part done from my previous install.

Here's the wooden plate I made to mount my old head unit:

This is what it looked like with the plexi panel mounted:

and with the stock radio plate over the top of it:

The new JVC sticks out a little bit more, so when I get time I'm going to need to install a couple washers between the wood and the stock mounting flange to push the wood back approximately 3/16".

I didn't take pics of my trim ring as I was making it, but I hand cut it out of 1/8" ABS stock. I used my dremmel with a cutting disk to get it close, then finished shaping it with a hand file and sand paper. It took me close to 2 hours. It would have taken me 10 minutes if I would ever get around to buying a damn motor for my milling machine. :)

Anyway, here are a couple horribly over-exposed pics:

Once I move the radio back a little more it'll look better. It already looks much better in person than in these pics. One thing that I'm very happy about is that the JVC moves the face out before it tilts it, so it allows me to keep the trim ring MUCH tighter than I could do with my Kenwood.
