Page One My rabbit has been modified with an 88 golf. It has a golf grill and headlights, along with golf dash, seats, engine and a custom intake made by my dad. It has some problems but its a WORK IN PROGRESS. This is a rabbit truck version wich many people don't see. This truck COST me $150.
The hood scoop was just put on and needs to be feathered with bondo
The black rabbit is my dads (gets 42 miles a gallon) its a diesel 4 cyl.
Thats the golf 1.8 engine, with digifant injection. It was a rough job to add the complete wiring harness from the golf. Lots of splicing and testing but it all came out great. Had to make my own connector for the cone type filter at the mass air flow. i have never seen an adapter for this type of injection.
The truck has some extra heavy duty springs that came with it.
the dash was also a hard task to achieve. had to drill holes in firewall to hold it in place then you have about 1/8" of clearance at the doors. but it is worth the work because it will be the only one like it on the road. we call it GTR what ever you want it to stand for.
We had to cut the shifter rod and make it shorter since the shifter was hitting the e-brake and a plastic piece in the shifter cover.
I adjusted the mass air flow sensor to trick the computer resulting in quicker response. For info on how to do this yourself e-mail me blackwell0216@comcast.net
This is my air intake that I just put on.
This is just a decal we put on to let people know what it is. I think it looks pretty good.

Getting the truck ready to paint with bondo on the hood scoop and starting to sand it down.
Bought new AutoTech cam for more mid range power.

Primered hood and doors but no pics of doors.

Here is a better pic of my door panel.

Put the cam in yesterday and the engine does idle slightly diferent (street legal cam) Hoping to get it out for a test run today.

Some APC pedals since the stock was just black rubber. (these look blueish in the picture but are purple)

New 3A Racing muffler
Put shocks to raise the hood with ease and then it stays by itself.

New MOMO shifter knob.

Custom made aluminum guage pod with volts, oil pressure, and bar.Brown spot only in picture.
