A few previous Mustangs i've owned
My first Mustang was this '88 GT 5 speed.
I bought it for $1200 bucks from a neighbor who needed a down payment for a new one. He had owned the car since early '89 and bought it as a new/used with only a thousand or so miles so he was pretty much the original owner. The plates that were on this car were on it since '89 and i pealed back every registration sticker all the way back...it was kinda cool. The car had some rust in the typical spots but was pretty clean otherwise except for the driver's side rear quarter where the guy got overconfident and slid the car into a gaurd rail. Before i traded it away, it had full MAC exhaust from the headers back and a K N filter but was otherwise a stock 5 speed. It was a good first Mustang and i had a lot of fun with it. Probably the slowest 'stang ive owned but i miss it sometimes.
Next came this '83 hatch
This car was an '83 with all '87 body panels, nose, and most of the interior. It was being built for 1/4 mile racing by the guy i got it from and he never finished it. It had a late '70s 351W out of an old police car in it, bored .30 over with all sorts of goodies on it. I traded my '88 GT for it because i fell in love with it and thought i could finish it. Well to make a long story short, $2k later and a lot of frustration and i gave up and traded the car for my '85 coupe which i still have today. I later found out from the guy i traded with that the engine was built with pushrods that were too long, and when the car was started for the first time the pistons got beat to hell and back by the valves and the motor was junk. Sorry dude! The car did have a 6 point roll cage, frame ties, aftermarket upper and lower control arms and 4.56 gears...it had a lot of potential. The guy did put a new engine in it and it was running high 11s the last time i saw it.
Then came the '85 SSP coupe
Those pics are how the car looked when i got it, aside from a nasty POS cowl hood that was on it. The story of that car is pretty much an ongoing money pit that consumes my time and money and evolves at a much slower rate than i'd like it to! You can find all about it throughout the rest of pages 1-3.
Lastly was this '79 T-top Ghia hatch
I bought this car for the front end pieces that are currently on my coupe today (you can see my stock '85 doghouse on the front of it). I bought it from a totally random guy who had the car sitting in his front yard. He basically wanted to get the car out of his yard so i offered him $200 for the car and he jumped all over it. Little did he know, the front clip alone goes for $400 on eBay lol. The car was pretty much gutted but had a decent 5.0 engine in it which i sold for $200 so i basically got what i wanted for free. The shell of the car was amazingly clean...not a spot of rust anywhere on the car except maybe underneath..i didn't really screw with the underside. I tried to sell the rest of the car for as little as 100 bucks, and then later tried to GIVE it away but got no takers, since the car had no title and nobody wanted to fool with such a bare car. It's sitting in a junkyard now :(
