Why don't I...
- do a 20V black or silver-top swap? too much money for little gain. wiring it up would suck.
- drop in a 4agze? i want more power off boost. wiring it up would suck.
- drop in a 4age? wiring it up would suck. it is not unique, either.
- drop in an *insert engine of choice here*? i'd rather stick with the 4ac and do something different, thanks.
- swap in a 5-speed? it will happen, but my gas mileage is going to drop quite a bit when i do, which is why i'm not really looking forward to it.
- add forced induction? in the future, perhaps.
- get a body kit? this may happen once the drivetrain is finished and the body is being refreshed; less weight due to less parts = happy me.
- get some new wheels? this will definitely happen, once i have the money and have decided on what i will run. i really want a set of hoshino impuls g5s, but they currently retail for $600/set.
- run nitrous? i think developing a dependency on a finite supply of something that isn't gasoline for power would be a bad idea. this wouldn't help me much with drifting or on a road course, so why bother?
- upgrade the lighting? oh, this is definitely happening. you'll read about it soon enough.
- upgrade the suspension? this is also definitely happening; i've been spending money on footwork-related stuff only so far. coilovers will be coming...
- upgrade the interior? racing seats once the car is done. a 4-point harness will come when i find a place to correctly mount it. the stereo will be replaced with a better unit, and a new amp, speakers, and wiring will ensure that all of my speakers work, for once.
- get some carbon fiber parts? i will do this once things start rusting away... guess that makes the sunroof the first part to be replaced. the trunk and the hood would be next.
- clean up your engine bay? once the weather warms up, the pressure washer is going to take care of that.
- add structural braces like a front strut tower brace? all the bracing i'm going to add would be ueo style gacchiri supports and an okuyama carbing 3-point strut tower brace up front, with a revolver or techno pro spirits strut tower brace in the rear. i may add provisions for a bolt-in roll cage for competitions during the welding stage.
- weld it up? seam and stitch welding to stiffen the car will occur once it has seen a body shop and had the straightness of the unibody checked. this chassis is waaaayyyy too flexible when compared with newer vehicles, and i want some of that stiffness in my sr5.
- paint the car? probably this summer, post-welding, since there is rust starting to form all over the car:(
- sell it? it's my first car, and it's rather rare at that, so probably not.
