This is my 1967 Chevy 1/2 ton 4x4. My dad bought it when i was less then a year old, so we've had it for almost 20 years. It used to be called the camo beater, and was used to haul loads of fire wood. It sat in our junkyard for about 10 years, but finally in the summer of 2002 we decided to transform it. My Dad and i took the the axles off and put new wheel bearings, wheel cylinders, and brakes all the way around. We painted it all black, put a new box on it. painted the leaf springs and axles yellow, put a new bumper from the local junkyard on the back and a light post bumper on the front. We also put a custom 6 inch lift on it before the axles were, reinstalled. It's got 3:73 gears with a posi in the rear.Currently its still got the straight six in it. But im building a 350, bored .060 over, with an edelbrock performer cam, hopefully it will be done this summer (2004). Well its July 3rd and im almost done with the motor, ive already got $1800 into it, bored .060 over, Edelbrock Performer Cam, Edelbrock Performer RPM Intake, Edelbrock Performer Carb, Accel HEI distributor with Accell wires. Theres only a few more things needed and the Swampthing will be ready. How you like my flames! Tell me what you think of my truck. 11-04-04, well i got the engine in finally, its got about 267 hp and almost 370 lb-ft of torque, ive only had it to about 60 miles per hour. Correction! 90 miles an hour at about 4 grand, if i had a 5 speed i think about 110, fast for an old 67 4x4
