Update: September 9th 2005
Well it had to happen someday, Ive SOLD my Capri, I exchanged it for the car of my dreams, a 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302, I have to say that Im quite pleased, Im excited and Im looking forward to make this car even better than it already is.
Update: July 19th 2005
The car is now finally ready, after going through some changes over the past 6 months, I got the moldings and the Rostyle wheels from Team Blitz, the wheels were blasted but Im still waiting to get them rechromed, that wont probably not happen until next year. The moldings were in a rather fair shape when I got them but after polishing them for 2 1/2 hours, using Autosol I was satisfyed, I havent got the chance to put them on, but I will do it eventually. I took some pictures of the car earlier today, along with some pictures when the car went through the restoration earlier this winter and I have posted them on Page 5 enjoy.
Update: March 9th 2005
Just got my new licenceplate numbers, X-1974, where X stands for Arnessysla (e.Arnescounty) and 1974 stands for the year 1974, still waiting for the Rostyle wheels and the moldings, but they will arrive shortly. The parts that are needed to be blasted will be blasted next week, when that is done the welding starts. I also ordered a Mountney Woodrim Steering wheel from www.deamon-tweeks.co.uk, I will post more pictures when I get a chance to!
Update: January 4th 2005
In the next few weeks I am beginning to strip the paint on the car down, fix the little rust that needs to be fixed, and paint the car red/black this spring. I am going to install a power steering, new steering wheel, another carburator, and this and that. I just bought a set of Rostyle wheels from Team Blitz and chrome moldings on the doors/fenders. The wheels will be blasted and painted black and rechromed. I will add some more pictures when I get the chance to.
Update: July 31st 2004

...and now a little thing about my Capri..
This Capri is manufactured in Halewood, England in November 1973. The car originally had 2.0 V4 engine. The car was imported to Iceland on the 21st of August 1975 and got the the Icelandic licenceplates R-26363. A women in her fifties bought the car used from the dealership and drove it the car to the year 1977, when another women also in her fifties bought it and drove it all up until the year 1990 when the car is finally parked outside her house in Reykjavik. In the spring of 1991 my father and my older brother were looking for a 69 Mustang to restore, unfortunately at the time there were not many 69 Mustangs to restore in Iceland, and if got that lucky to come across one you would have to pay good money for it, so one day they come across the Capri parked in the driveway with only 83.000 km on the odometer. My brother knocked on the door asked if the car was for sale the lady sayd yes and he got it for 25.000 isl.kronur (193 british pounds) This same month my father began the restoration. Alot of sheet metal was replaced, front fenders, front and rear window frame, the headlights, front and rear apron, all this was replaced, along with the old V4 engine which was swapped for a V6 2.8 from a 86 Bronco and a transmisson from a Ford Sierra. After 11 months in the garage, working on the car all weekends the car was then finally ready on May 28th 1992. Despite it has been 13 years since the car was restored, the Capri is in very good shape, always garaged and almost never driven in rain, all the interior is original (except for the woodgrain the dash and the carpets), plus all chrome is in very good shape, in fact this is the ONLY MK1 Capri in Iceland. Here below you can go through pictures of the restoration and pictures of the car as it is today. Enjoy!
