Escort Passport 8500 x50 Radar Detector-easy way to not have any wires dangling without hardwiring. All you need is a approx 25' phone wire(probably laying around the house) and an inline coupler. Both can be purchased at Radio Shack for around $10 total.

Just insert one end of phone line into the detector and mount where you want it to be. Push the phone wire under the piece of plastic covering mirror wires. Run the wire left toward the driverside door and push it between the windshielf and the roof of the car. There is a little space where you can squeeze the wire and it will never move.

There is also a space where you can squeeze the phone line between the windshield and the driverside pilliar.

Run the wire in the space between the side of the car and the dashboard. Tuck the wire behind the hood release lever.

Attach other end of phone line to an inline coupler.

Put the rest of the phone wire underneath the seat.

Connect the other end of the coupler to the detector power until, plug in, and you are done.
