This is my 1966 Dodge Monaco Conv its my first car. I got her when I was 17 from my father for christmas.

The ride was in over all good shape for a 66 but it needed some overhaul-in the first thing I did when I got it was to change the oil, belts, tires, rad hoses, signal light switch, brake light switch and a new battery. I got the car on the road and shortly after I broke the motor mount from doing burn outs from every stop light in town. I soon learned I had to take it a little easier on the old girl, not only for the car's sake but for my own well being, because my old man would have kicked my ass if I didn't. My father owned the car since 1968 and still loved it when he passed it on to me so he didn't really appreciate the fact his youngest son was abusing his precious 66 convertible but he understood I had to see what the old girl was made of. I remember when I was 19, I was helping the old man change the spark plugs on the convertible cause it was only running on 6 or 7 cylinders, when we finished and he fired that motor up he started to tear up. I didn't know why at the time but later on I realized that he loved that car sooo much that all the good times and fun memories he had in it just came pouring back just by the sound of that motor rumbling the way it should. My father has since passed and I have been DEDICATD to breathing new life into the sweet ride you see before you. I first pulled the 383 cu'in motor out and had it rebuilt cause it smoked a lot from burning oil. The motor is bored over 30 and has a mild cam in it, I had the tranny rebuilt, resealed and reinstalled (727 torqueflite 3 speed auto) I found a posi rear end with 323 gear and hooked it up, went down to the exhaust shop and had 2 1/2 inch true duals put on with 24/3 inch chrome tips. The body&paint work took about 8 months I put a new convertible top, a new windshield, replaced the broken tail lights (still look-in for a good set) front signal light lenses, new carpet, replaced the rear interior panels, redid the back seat and painted the dash. I bought a set of 18' 100 spoke chromies originally but have since replaced them with a set of 20' 100 spoke PLAYA chrome wires I bought them from a friend in the club I belong to (TRUE PLAYAZ LCC)
