This is my budget '94 Camaro Z28...
Recent pics on pages 3 and 4.
04/27/07: This car was totaled and the chassis was replaced with an identical one 2 years ago. Sorry for the lack of updates. Current info is on pages 3 and 4.
08/05/04: I'm setting this car up to be a daily driver I can enjoy at the same time. I picked it up from a friend of mine who was having problems with keeping it maintained and was getting frustrated with automatic trans problems (3 trannies in 800 miles!). Car was crying out for TLC...needed a trans, steering rack, a fender, bumper cover and hood. Still needs a bumper cover since this one sags...a new one is waiting along with '97 tailights, eibach springs, new struts and shocks, strut tower brace and subframe connectors. All these parts will be installed after I finish my overseas tour here in the Army.
Here's my car as it sits currently. Stock body with mild drivetrain upgrades and C5 Vette wheels. Upgrades include hooker supercomp shorty headers, borla catback, 224/232/112 LSA cam (.502/.510 lift), cold air induction, and pulleys. Car has had a recent T-56 6 speed conversion using all fresh parts. I had a T-56 that was supposed to be a '95 model that was good, but turned out being a '93 M28 model needing work instead. Car runs very well considering what I paid for it, but has a top-end valve float problem due to me using LT4 springs which I had at the time. No numbers on this setup. At this point I only had $1400 into add-ons, including the wheels with new nitto rubber.
Here's a shot of the interior. Dirty since I haven't been home to clean it in 11 months and it's parked in sand! Pictures don't do it justice; only add ons here are the Pioneer stereo headunit. I have a new set of speakers, one sub, and some gage faces planned (as soon as I find some I like). Also know of some leather seats from a '99 SS I plan on using.
Here's an engine shot. Not much to see here...you can see the headers and cold air induction and that's about all. Intake is a red ported LT1. The elbow is a 1LE unit, TB has an airfoil, MAF was descreened, and there's a small bumpstick in there. Doesn't even have roller rockers yet...but manages 28 MPG highway! Parts purchased and waiting for install include NSA 1.6 pro mags, cc306 cam(230/244/112, .544/.577 lift (1.6)), vented opti conversion, LT4 ED timing chain, Taylor OTVC wires, crane HI-6R ignition, 54mm ported throttle body and better springs. Some head cleanup is planned as well. A new walbro fuel pump is waiting to replace the whining original. Even though I already replaced the original ailing opti, I'm converting to a vented opti to run a stronger chain and will be adding a drip tube to the new water pump weep hole to keep water off the opti in case of failure.
Here's a picture from the back. The paint is very dirty as you can see in the pics, and slightly faded; I will most likely have the entire car repainted by a buddy of mine who works at a local body shop. I'm considering painting the rear taillight panel a silver color to match the wheels, and using black 'CAMARO' inserts, and keeping the rest of the car black. Also considering changing over to the newer SS style spoiler.
