Most looking at this page will know what a ZX2 looks like and I really don't have any "Before" pictures so use your immagination. I also understand that changing the interior color scheme has no impact on the speed of the car but I don't think most people understand how much I hate the color tan.
Many of you will see the times posted on the 1/4 mile and think that they are indeed slower than you run at your local track. The reason they seem slow is that racing in Colorado is done at Bandimere Speedway which sits in the foothills of the rocky mountains. The track elevation is just under 6,000 feet above sea level, so up here a 15 second car is pretty damn fast.

This is what I had to do to get the interior painted. While it was out, I decided to run wires for the interior neons that I installed.
This shows the drivers side door prior to paint.
I really had to rip the hell out of the car and I'm surprised I didn't break anything.
This is a closeup of the control panel. I made my own guages that fade from blue to red. They look awesome at night. The surrounding bezel I decided to paint blue. I really like the way it turned out.
This shot is the finished drivers side in the rear.
And the passenger side. Notice the spots where the paint didn't stick. I'll have to do some touch ups.
The passenger door is finally done, re-assembled, and re-installed.
While the car was torn apart, I decided to re-cover the rear deck panel with the same fabric I used in the doors. Turned out nice with some spray adhesive.
The finished dashboard. Thinking of what to do with the stearing wheel.
I took this shot to show the detail of the defroster vent and access screw cover.
These are the products that I used to re-color the interior.
I also used the "Fabric Color" spray, but it made the sunshade crusty so I decided to cover them with the same fabric as the doors and rear deck panel (Still a work in progress).
Later, I found that any kind of heavy use causes the paint to flake. Moisture also gets under the paint and raises it, leading to flaking. I reccommend that anyone trying this route should use a clear coat over the top to protect the paint.
Comming Soon . . . . the turbo.
I am going to install a Warner ISHI turbo off of an old turbocoupe (At least I'm keeping to Ford Parts) and an intercooler. I am going to do some extensive alterations to the hood, custom fabricating a giant scoop to house the intercooler and turbo. This will take some time.
In the mean time, I just bought a Zex Nitrous kit with a Zex purge kit and those should be going in by the end of next week. I also have an Exedy Racing clutch on the way.
I'm also trying to get some exterior pics, but it's hard not having the right equipment.
