This is the "sporty" 2.8 powerhouse, i call this the ranch because this is where i keep all my horses... all 130 of them ha ! So far all I did to the stock stuff is an 3 angle cut valve job, some light porting on the heads, and tore out the catalytic and muffler, and put a 20" cherry bomb glasspack. Its not the fastest or strongest, but it sure does sound like it. And oh yeah, anything EGR is either taken out or capped.

THE "FLOW" BENCH, A GOOD IDEA TO KEEP ALL THE PORTING WORK AWAY FROM THE REST OF THE PROJECT

THE VALVE BLOCK, EVEN IF YOURE NOT GONNA USE EM AGAIN, IT STILL COULD BE HELPFUL TO REMEMBER WHERE THEY WERE. THIS IS DIVIDED BY PASSENGER AND DRIVERSIDE OF THE BLOCK.

THE ROLLOCK BRISTLE BRUSH, BETTER THAN ANY OTHER KIND OF BRUSH OR PREP TOOL YOU CAN FIND. BARNONE. IF YOU DONT KNOW YOU BETTER ASK SOMEBODY.

EVEN THOUGH IT WAS A 2.8, THIS IS MY FAVORITE THING TO DO WITH THE CATALYTIC CONVERTOR, MAKE IT "CHERRY" and take off that damn muffler!

the next page is a couple more of my rides

Hey nice lookin bird, I have damn near the same exact car, i have an 88 with a 2.8L guttless wonder, i also have a boss who owns a 350 from a 70 camaro that i want to throw in my car. I have been told by a few people that i wont be able to pass emmissions because im goin from a computerized v6 fuel injection to a carborated v8. I was jsut wondering what kinda things your having to do to get your car ready for the swap. i honestly think im gona be fine if i gut the car completely get a new MSD ignition rebuild that 350 which comes WITH the original tranny, drive shaft and rear end. it will be like im driving a 70 camaro with a nice 80's firebird body, let me know what kidn of things your up to the input will help me out a great deal, and good luck with your bird

Thanks a bunch for the imput it helps out a great deal, yea the motor mounts and crossmember was the first thing on my mind, but that whole smog thing worries me the most. I am planning on calling all the emmissions places around my town and see what they have to say, and also get info on someone who has already done the same type of swap. Thanks again and yea ill need the luck hopefully everythiong will go smooth for me. It would really be awesome to have a car i enjoy driving.
