Installation
2 Head units. The Sony HU was later removed.
All the cables messed up inside.
After some re-arranging, notice the stock wiring been warped with some alluminium foil and neatly bunch up. Once the HU is push back into the dash, it become jumbled up again.
Whats the black colour cable thingy on top of the RCA inputs? Any ideas?
This is how my speaker pannel looks like. I wanted to have a original and stealthy look.
Speaker Installation
This is how I position my old Boss Audio Tweeters. Mounted to fire towards the windscreen.
Later I reposition them to fire towards the center (to get more on-axis sound) The tonal improve but the imaging suffer slightly.
Once I got my new component speakers, the old pair was removed. Look at the wiring I got from the shop install. I cant believe it, but luckilly the workmanship was very cheap.
I remove all the cables, re-solder them nicely and put shrink shealth warping on instead of those tapes. I hate working with tapes.

I also made some new speaker stands for the OZ tweeters, because the tweeters are bigger then my old tweeters. Just a simple piece of MDF cut to a angled size and warp with PVC.
My OZ mids are mounted on MDF thats are screw to the metal frame of the door. Also sealed with sillicone to ensure that it does not get wet or leak air. My old speaker was install this way too.
The OZ's passive cross overs are huge, so I decided to utilize them and try them out. They sounded okay, so I stick with em.
Seal enclosure for my sub, JL Audio 12W0. Double layer of MDF for the front to make the box more sturdier and to obtain a flushed look.
Cables (4AWG) and some shielding for extra grounding. All DIY with the help from my mechanic friend Cheong.
Cascade deflex pads for speakers.
Sound proofing.
I did all of the sound proofing myself. I use Wurth on the door (to cover the holes), on the side of the boot and bits and pieces here and there. For the floor, I use thick insuflex (about 1/2") and also a thin layer for the door pannel.
The door panel is sparyed with a layer of Cascade Quiet Kote, the speaker area there sound deadend with more wurth and the rest covered with a thin layer (1/8") of insuflex. The area near the speaker is further deaden with another layer of Wurth.
