g`day im adam im 17 and this is my pride and joy, its a 1978 Holden One Tonner. my dad gave it to me after i broke my wrist racing motocross. it was his old work hack, but it had a fresh 253 and not much rust as it has been cleaned up a few times before. This is what it looked like when i first got it, not too bad for a work hack but not exactly how i wanted it too look. The first day i had it i started to strip it down, and start fresh. The first thing i did was get the 253 makin a few extra ponies. as the motor was only a year old it was easy. I bought a lumpy cam and lifter kit, pace macker 4-1, with 1 1/2 primaries, redline tunnel ram, 2x450vacsec holleys with a ram scoop, and to top it off a msd blaster2 coil. the power is fed to the reco and kitted trimatic via a 2500histall dominator tourqe converter. unfortinatly due to my budget i couldnt build a better engine, but when its all goin i plan to build a blown and stroked 308, using all the bolt on parts from the 253. This was taken when i finished building the tray. it took a bit under two weeks to make. my dad let me use one of the migs and all the tools in the factory for the two weeks. the tray is made from 14 meters of 60x30x6mm mild steel tube and 10 meters of 110x50x1.6mm mild steel tube. there is a large box under the tray for storage of the spare wheel, battery, jack, wheel brace and there is enough room to put about 4 slabs of beer in there as well. the top of the tray is made from aprox. 6 square meters of 3mm thick aluminium tread plate. while it was at the factory i made a box 30mm off the back wall to house part of the sound system.site still under rebuild!!! more photos and info coming soon.
