Well as of Janurary 4/2005 I got another GLH turbo to replace "omlet" which left me too soon. This one is a 1985 and it is gold dust metallic with a tan interior. this is a very rare colour for GLH omni's about 100 each year I have been told.
The car was purchased for $300 U.S with a cracked K-frame. I am the cars fourth owner, it was purchased brand new in Anchorage Alaska and since new has travelled down to Seattle Washington where I purchased the car.
It is actually quite a clean car, with a rebuilt motor/transmission a newer turbo on it, as well as Brand new rad and CV axles.
The Owner who had it from 1987-2001 had put some serious work into the car. Bills adding up to over $15,000 were handed over to me. At some point that owner had a Direct connection over top intercooler installed as I have the bill of sale, instructions and so on, but when I recieved the car that had been removed.
Plans for the car are to tint the windows, install 16'' pumpers and convert it to true Turbo II specs.
Here are the pics From When I first got the car.
Here is the motor in it. The car is dirty underhood just like my last one, but I will clean it up very fast.
Here is the car on the back of the tow truck, making the Trip from Suquamish Washington to Vancouver B.C
here is the car after a long trip with the fog lights on (They work, unlike the red GLH!!)
This car just looks pissed off! I'd hate to see it in my rear veiw mirror!
here is the all important hood vent on the car. only came on GLH Turbo's.
here is a shot of the side skirt on the car. Dodge made this car Bitchin looking way back in 1985!
The previous owner Just sent me the Owners manual for the car, which is cool to have. You can also see that he kept track of repairs. At one point the car had a DC overtop intercooler. at 30,000 Miles it was put on. At 37,047 miles it had a replacemnt intercooler put on. From then to present, the Intercooler has disappeared. Too bad!
Well Here are some pics of the car after the front K-frame was replaced, as well as a CV axle and Totally cleaned up. The Car is Hawt and Sexay Frseh out the Kitchen!
This has to be my favorite picture of the car so far, it just looks so angry!
I had to go take a picture of "brownie" in front of the Omni Sign as well.
How could you not love a face like this????
The View Seen By many people who underestimate this car!
Here Is a quick Pic of my Car in Front of Science World. Dont mind the car, it is dirty in the pic!
In The words of Gold Member this car is tioght, Very Tioght!
Here is the office. In pretty good condition for being 20 years old. I did have to do a LOT of cleaning in here too though!
"brownie was sold on June 29th of this year. The new owner just loved her quirky personality and its Sexay Looks. Best of luck with the new ride.
Now here is my First GLH turbo I had. The car was written off after only 10 days of ownership. In those ten days, I did however happen to put over 2,000 kms on the car. Lots of cruisin was done in this Bad boy!
Anywayz, here is the car in all her Glory, as I said She was pretty much stock, besides the MP computer and roller rocker head. She needed some cleaning and detailing to make her look 100 % again.
the car was red/gray colour combo..the red/red is just too much Red!
Ok, Here she is as Found, Dirty and had been sitting for about a year and a half before I started to drive it.
Here are a couple more recent pics of the car. Still, I really hadn't done anything to the car, except put a new CD deck in it and clean it Extremly well!
THIS AINT YOUR GRANDMA'S OMNI!! Gotta love the Factory front air dam and fog lights!
Here is the Guages, thats Right, only 110,978 original Kilometers on it!.
Stock motor with an 89 Roller rocker Head, The pic on the left is the motor when I got the car....DIRTY, the pic on the right is cleaned up.
These are the to most areodynamic cars out there LOL
And heres the factory side skirt lettering on the car.
Here is a couple shots of the interior of the car. Very 80's indeed!!! still though, not bad for the time.
And here is the hottae that is always along for the ride!!
Well, of July 13/04 The car was hit Severly in the rear end by a typical "richmond driver" at about 50-60 kms an hour! The car sustained $7200 worth of damages on it!
This car still Lives on in parts. The motor and tranny were pulled and sold, as well as the SLH brakes and some interior parts. I kept a lot of the other parts, and they will be put to use on "brownie!" Rest in Peace "omlet" Rest in peace!!!
My Shadow ES convertible I had for a while. I bought it cheap, rode her hard and put her away wet one too many times. Leading to a rod bearing failure!
Now comes the 90 Shadow ES turbo five speed. Zero power options, No A/C or cruise control, manual windows But four wheel discs! This car is going to be my winter car when I put the convertible away. This thing needs to be fast, handle well and most of all be reliable. Outside, the car will be freshened up a bit, but stay mostly stock. It will be getting a set of lowering springs along with the convertible. But other then that, it will stay stock looking.
2.5 Turbo I motor underhood!
Rear disc Brakes!!!
