3/9/08 Wow. I didn't realize it's been this long since I've had an update! Time flies when you are dealing with a new job and stuff. Anyway, I just updated my gauge cluster lights to these multi-LED deals I got from Yahoo Japan Auctions.

11/05/07 Weds MA86 15x8.5 -10 offset. Hmm, rear fits well. The fronts were rubbing when I was at full lock backing out the driveway! I think I need to pull the fenders a little more.

10/06/07 SARD & A'PEXi components for the air/fuel issues hookup up. NST cam gears on. Wrapped up with some dyno time at Drift-Office. 164whp/160 ft-lbs. Check out that killer A/F ratio!

7/25/07 Dyno charts finally! Didn't do too bad, we I've got an air/fuel issue to take care of. Hopefully a Walbro 255lph, SARD fuel pressure regulator, and the A'PEXi AFC-NEO that I've had sitting for a while will do the trick!

Here are some old numbers from a couple of years ago. Not a lot of power overall, but the increase over stock is what's key for me! Doesn't really matter what car you drive, but you gotta appreciate a 50% bump.

7/22/07 Well, I still haven't hit the dyno yet. Maybe I'll get a pull within a week or so. I did forget to mention that I installed some Denso Iridium IQ20 plugs on 7/1. Yippee.

7/2/07 No real updates yet, but I am meeting the dyno this week! Wish me luck!

5/17/07 Volk Racing TE37. Looks crazy different! With running 205's all the way around, I'll likely need to pull the front fenders out another inch or rock more camber. I think it's time for wider fenders.

5/14/07 3 months later, my Volk Racing TE37's in Diamond Black are finally here! I should have 'em mounted by this weekend. I'll run them for about 100 miles to get rid of the mold release. Just in time for auto-x season!

4/12/07 Took off the FC3S aero mirrors and went back to something that was designed for the AE86. Yay! Overpriced East Bear electric mirrors installed.

4/05/07 East Bear electric mirrors installed. The weather is supposed to be nice this
weekend, so I'll snap up some pics then. And I finally got around to installing my
Infinity Basslink II. Unfortunately, all my wiring is still messy and exposed. I'll save
that project for another day.

4/04/07 Ah, what a killer week! I got my East Bear electric mirrors yesterday and today
I got some CUSCO goodies. See the "waiting for installation section" below to see what
else is on tap.

3/17/07 HKS Fuel Cut Defenser installed and tuned by Drift-Office. Butt-dyno says another
10% of hp unleashed. That's 10% more on top of the 10% gain (again, butt-dyno) from the
NST pulleys last week! 4 words: wheel-stand-in-3rd.BB_AE86's 1986 Toyota Corolla

3/15/07 Mod list updated. I've also added a new page for 80's videos!
Butt rock and some pop that makes great driving music while I'm cruisin' 80's style!
Whitesnake, Scorpions, Def Leppard and others...you know you like it beotch! Just
keeping it true to the era!!! Click here to the max!

3/9/07 Mod list updated with more swap details. By the way, don't forget to check
out our coverage of the Seattle Roadster Show and Import Motion Show.

1/30/07 PICS! Just wanted to share a few pics I snapped tonight.

1/28/07 UPDATE! I took her out this morning. Wow, the car pulls hard...and I'm only
doing 50% throttle and keeping it under 4K! Until my break-in period is complete,
she's getting babied. =(

1/27/07 UPDATE! Swap is done. The Drift-Office crew got the new Exedy Stage III
(6-puck) in. Last I heard, the Goodridge brakelines were in and getting bled.
Just a little more fine-tuning before she can finally go home! BTW, here's an
interesting find on my pressure plate. I guess the car truly is a beast now.

1/2/07 UPDATE! 2 updates in one night? Why not! For those inquiring about my GZE swap,
here's a preview:

JDM hotness intercooler mounting + SR20 coilpacks!
BB_AE86's 1986 Toyota Corolla

Okay, the pic above was just for experimentation, testing, and kicks.

Though it's pretty, it'll be MUCH MORE pretty thanks to the guys at Drift-Office.
After all of the hard work of testing, installing, and related, we decided to pull
the engine back out b/c there was some "contamination" in the head. I'll have
more details on that later. So what now? Overhaul! And I'm not sparing any
expense...to be continued!

1/2/07 RANT/UPDATE! Sorry I haven't had an update in a few weeks! As some of you
know, I recently traded in my G35 coupe and scooped up a 2007 G35x sedan. Well, to
make a long story short: the Infiniti dealership called and said they made an honest
mistake on our paper work and wanted to come back in redo the paperwork! By law,
I could have held them to it (0.59% APR instead of the 5.9%!), but I wanted to
wash my hands clean and have a Toyota-only garage anyway!
So here's the new addition:
2007 Desert Sage (yes, it's green!) IS250 AWD.

Delivery Day!
BB_AE86's 1986 Toyota Corolla
Of course a famous garage pic!
BB_AE86's 1986 Toyota Corolla
Big thanks to Ed and Frank over at Lexus of Tacoma!

12/7/06 UPDATE! Swap is still in the works. But in the meantime, I'll be looking into getting
some wheels and suspension for my new G35X!

BB_AE86's 1986 Toyota Corolla

12/7/06 UPDATE! Drift-Office is just about done prepping the motor. We just
gotta knock out a few details and I need to decide on a few component options.
More updates coming!!!

11/20/06 RANT! Okay, it's a Corolla GTS...but why the heck are there "Sprinter TRUENO"
and GTV decals/badging/bumpers on the car? Am I poseur and not proud of the Corolla
name? Am I ashamed of the US version? Am I killing the authenticity? Am I
perpetrating that my car is JDM?

All great questions! Regardless of the reason, all the styling is done to be different.
The same car in Japan is a Toyota Sprinter Trueno. So with all of my JDM aerodynamics
and rare parts, I thought I would try to keep it as JDM as possible. The GTV trim of
this car in Japan is famous for it's quick steering traits, more so than it's non-GTV
sisters. If you check out my mod list, you'll see the quick steering department has
been addressed. Plus, the GTV decals were available and the GTS decals have been
disco'd. Not that I need to justify it to anyone, but I do get lots of "huh" and "I don't get
it" questions. So if you have any yourself, I'll be more than happy to talk about the
what or the why.

11/07/06 UPDATE! It hasn't been driven for more than a week! But at least I'm making some preemtive moves. This is on the way!

10/30/06 UPDATE! Worksbell RapfixII quick release installed! Like the other stuff, I'll
take some more pics after SEMA.

10/26/06 Not so much of an update, but I'll definitely snap some pics after SEMA. With the
recent passing of my dad, I've focused more time with the family. I do have some more JDM
goodies coming! After all, my dad was proud of my car's progress. =)

10/1/06 UPDATE! Audio install done! I did leave out the stiffening capacitor since I still don't
know where to put it. Pics on the way after I vacuum!

9/30/06 UPDATE! AE86 vs. R34 Skyline & STI videos added.

9/29/06 UPDATE! Sparco EVO + Bride FG installed! It's A LOT lower than my Corbeau setup,
and much more snug. Pics to come tonight!

9/27/06 UPDATE! Here's the current progress on my first audio install!

What a mess! Duhh, umm...I better call CarDomain Customer Care for help.
Amp on the left is a Rockford Fosgate Punch P325.2.
On the right is a Rockford Fosgate Punch P450.4. BB_AE86's 1986 Toyota Corolla

Since it is my first install, why not try to make it clean? 8" between each zip tie, with
electrical tape between. BB_AE86's 1986 Toyota Corolla

Another angle. It's crazy dusty because the fibers on the carpet padding are over 20
years old! *cough*BB_AE86's 1986 Toyota Corolla

Lookie what came in yesterday! Sparco EVO in black! I need to scoop up my Bride FG
seat base tonight. Using the Bride seat base, this will get it to sit at the lowest height.
No more hitting my helmet on the ceiling with my crusty Corbeau seat! I think I'll keep
the plastic on...Asian style!BB_AE86's 1986 Toyota Corolla

9/11/06 UPDATE! Kenwood Excelon KDC-X689 head unit installed. It's pretty cool, still
learning all the functions. I'll start to pre-wire the car for the audio stuff that's still waiting.
I also need to get scoop up some MDF and figure out how create and mount an amp rack.

9/07/06 morning UPDATE! Rear end is done! Mod list updated! Thanks Drift-Office!
