About Me
First and foremost I am an aspiring artist, so once this vehicle is completed it should be quite stunning with a killer paint job. Here is my online GALLERY for an example of some of my work. I have been airbrushing for a little while now and I have just recently taken up the art of pin striping. I am quite excited to do the paint on this car, but I must wait until i finish all the restorations and complete the engine swap.

Car History

novastar88mx6's 1988 Mazda MX-6Below are some comparison photos of what the car looked like when I bought it and how it looks at present. It was looking pretty sad,but the engine has been taken care of well, it has about 160 psi of compression in all cylinders, and is remarkably clean inside. It only has the F2 N/A 2.2L SOHC 12 valve in her, but I've freed up the intake and exhaust a bit so it is still sufficiently peppy. Currently it has about 321 000 km's on it, but she still doesn't use any oil and aside from some periodic lifter noise, she runs like a charm.

novastar88mx6's 1988 Mazda MX-6I have acquired a 88'MX6 Turbo, which will be my donor car for a lot of projects. I am using it to fabricate my custom bumpers and stereo enclosure. Most importantly it will provide me with a transmission and drive line for my Fe3 swap. My hope has been restored in the project, now I have only to finish up my current mods, then it will be on to the engine!

novastar88mx6's 1988 Mazda MX-6I Finally finished the trunk and stereo fabrication. Decided to go with an Red Oak finish. I did all of the construction myself so in total the entire trunk was built and installed for only around $50. It is very well insulated and I am still able to access my spare tire compartment with ease.

Here is just a close up of the 17" RTX Futura 5's and Custom Rear Dash.

Engine Swap
I have a couple of options, engine wise, for this car. I have a JDM FE3 2.0L DOHC 16Valve engine and a Megasquirt II still sitting in the garage for this car. This is my primary choice, but if for some reason I cannot manage to make it run I also have two 2.2L SOHC 12 Valve Turbo engines complete with tranny and ECU to choose from.

Future Projects
- Engine Swap
- Custom Airbrushing and pin striping.

DOHC!!!! Good call. The old SOHC was very restrictive for power, even with a turbo. But very very clean MX6
