ONE TOUCH DOWN MODULE

I installed a One Touch Down Window Module kit from Pony Performance. It uses factory Ford parts and takes 15 minutes to install without getting dirty. One quick press of the window switch and it will roll all the way down.

There are three (3) windows switches in the Mustang.

1-Driver's door, drivers window
2-Driver's door, passenger window
3-Passenger's door, passenger window

The kit gives you the one touch down functionality on switches 2 and 3, just like switch 1. The kit comes with one (1) One Touch Down Module, one (1) wiring harness, a few wire clips and connectors. The module takes 15 minutes to install, or 30 if it's your first time and you're double and triple checking everything.

Installation was really simple. Pry open the top part of the trim that holds the window switches, then pull the entire trip piece up. There's one clip near the rear end holding the trim piece in. The picture below shows the passenger side trim piece partially removed. I pried the top part of the piece for this photo. Keep in mind that this module can be installed on the driver's side door and it will still work for both passenger window switches.

Find the right colored wires and tap into them using the connectors provided. There were two wires to connect using crimp on connectors. There's one wire to cut and two crimp on barrel connectors are provided to make clean connections. One wire had to be grounded to the door. I attached the loop fastener (also provided) for the ground wire to an existing screw in the door.

The only tools I needed were a flat blade screwdriver to pry the trim away from the door, a crosspoint screw driver to attach the ground wire, and a wire stripper/cutter. I also used a multimeter because I was paranoid and wanted to double check all my electrical connections. The control module itself does not have to be attached or bolted to anything. I just wrapped it in one of my spousal unit's socks to prevent any rattles, and lodged it between the door and the trim.

The instructions cover both 99-04 and 94-98 installations. The kit costs $27 shipped ($29 for express mail). At the time of my purchase, the website only took Paypal, so I had to mail a personal check. I received the kit in less than a week. The owner of the business is really good at responding to emails.

I highly recommend this mod. It's not a performance mod, nor is it a show mod. It is a purely functional mod.

Cost: $27.00

Nice tips. I like the 3.5" it fills that hole much better. Rolled edge is the only way to go. I am changing mine to 3.5" rolled edge and I ran across your page =)

Nice Stang! www.MustangSequencers.com: You should think about getting sequential tail lights.

Nice ride. Very informative write ups as well, you should write for a mag or website. Would love to hear a "how to" on launching an auto tranny from your perspective..

not a bad dyno for the minimal amount of mods. and i wouldent get longtubes until u are almost done modding your car or already have alot of mods, b/c they cost alot and the end return on HP isnt that much. underdrive pulleys are very effective and maybe run u 150 bucks. they can raise ur HP anywhere from 8-14hp, which is what the longtubes MIGHT do but at a waay higher price. also, if ur looking to get a really really loud cat-back go with SLP loudmoth I..it will wake the dead...later
