LMM SUBFRAME CONNECTORS

I bought subframe connectors from Laural Mountain Mustang (LMM). The subframe connectors from Maximum Motorsports seems to be the favorite on message boards but I noticed the LMM ones come with better seat brackets and a plate for the torque box area. Plus they are cheaper and I got a free t-shirt out of it.

The ends were open so we had to weld small plates on to close them up. I brought this up with LMM and they said they normally close them up. Other people posted in the message board thread and they said they got theirs closed. The LMM rep said he will make sure this will be addressed.

The plates for the torque boxe area provide extra support. This is the rear subframe where the lower control arms connect. Without the support plates, the subframe connector is only attached by a small section that is 1 inch wide and maybe 2 inches long.

The seat brackets attach to the bolts that hold the seats in. They get welded to the subframe connector to make the body more rigid. Notice that the seat brackets come as a single piece. Maximum Motorsports gives you a long flat plate and four triangle pieces. They all get welded together during the installation. I prefer the single piece.

The forward section of the subframe connector attaches to the front subframe with about two feet of surface. I don't know why they were designed like this. I would think they would do less in the front and more in the rear.

Cost:
$200.00 for the connectors
$ 75.00 for the installation
$ 2.00 for the protective spray paint

Nice tips. I like the 3.5" it fills that hole much better. Rolled edge is the only way to go. I am changing mine to 3.5" rolled edge and I ran across your page =)

Nice Stang! www.MustangSequencers.com: You should think about getting sequential tail lights.

Nice ride. Very informative write ups as well, you should write for a mag or website. Would love to hear a "how to" on launching an auto tranny from your perspective..

not a bad dyno for the minimal amount of mods. and i wouldent get longtubes until u are almost done modding your car or already have alot of mods, b/c they cost alot and the end return on HP isnt that much. underdrive pulleys are very effective and maybe run u 150 bucks. they can raise ur HP anywhere from 8-14hp, which is what the longtubes MIGHT do but at a waay higher price. also, if ur looking to get a really really loud cat-back go with SLP loudmoth I..it will wake the dead...later
